—WHAT WE DO
stop water before it becomes a problem.
Hamilton and the surrounding region gets its share of rain, snowmelt, and ground saturation. When water finds a way into your foundation or basement, it causes damage that compounds over time: mold, structural issues, and lost usable space.
At Fioravanti Contracting, we don't just cover up the symptom. We assess where water is entering, why it's happening, and apply the right solution. Whether that's an exterior membrane, interior drainage system, or a combination of both. If you're dealing with active flooding or sudden water intrusion, call us directly. We can respond quickly to assess the situation and help limit the damage.

—WHAT’S INCLUDED
waterproofing services we provide
excavation waterproofing
We excavate around the foundation, apply a waterproofing membrane directly to the wall, and install drainage board and weeping tile to redirect water away from foundation.
foundation crack injection
Polyurethane and epoxy injection to seal active cracks in poured concrete foundations. A durable, minimally invasive fix that stops water infiltration at the source.
interior waterproofing systems
Interior drainage channels and sump systems capture water that enters the wall-floor joint and direct it to a sump pit. An effective solution where exterior excavation isn't practical.
sump pump installation
We dig the pit, install the pump, and connect it to a drainage system. A properly installed sump system is your last line of defence against basement flooding.
french drains & weeping tile
Perimeter drainage systems installed around the foundation to intercept groundwater and surface runoff before it can saturate the soil against your foundation walls.
grading & surface drainage
Improper grading around your home is one of the most common causes of wet basements. We regrade the soil around your foundation so surface water runs away and not toward your home.

—COMMON QUESTIONS
Waterproofing faqs
-
Exterior waterproofing involves excavating around the foundation and applying a membrane directly to the outside of the wall: it stops water before it reaches the structure.
Interior waterproofing manages water that has already entered, directing it to a sump system.
We assess which approach, or a combination of both, is right for your situation.
-
A properly installed exterior waterproofing system with a membrane and drainage tile can last as long as 20 years or more. Interior drainage systems are also very durable, provided the sump pump is maintained. We use quality materials and install them correctly so your system performs as long term as possible. Please keep in mind, longevity is on a case by case basis, and we cannot guarantee the installation will last 20-25 years.
-
A dry, protected basement is a significant selling point and can meaningfully increase the value and marketability of your home.
Many buyers in Hamilton and surrounding areas specifically ask about waterproofing history during the purchase process.
-
A sump pump is an important last line of defence, but it works best as part of a complete system. Without drainage tile or an interior channel directing water to the pit, a sump pump alone may not be sufficient for a chronically wet basement.
-
Most wet basements after rain come down to one of three things: poor grading directing surface water toward the foundation, blocked or failed weeping tile, or cracks in the foundation wall. We assess all three during our inspection to find the actual source of the problem, and not just treat the symptom.
